【講義概要】
This is a content-focused discussion and critical thinking course examining the origins, evolution and current usage of the English language. The course provides an overview of some of the key historical influences on English, as well as some of the different types of English, such as Soth African, or Caribbean English, that exist today.
【学習到達目標】
The course aims to deepen understanding of the evolution and usage of the English language through lectures, and research-based reports. It also aims to encourage critical thinking and promote sharing of ideas and opinions among students.
【履修上の注意】
Students are encouraged to actively interact with their classmates. Students will work individually, in pairs, and small groups to complete tasks and have discussions.
Please note: the schedule and evaluation criteria are subject to change.
【事前準備学習】
Students are expected to prepare for and review the lessons by completing homework tasks. Homework will be given each week and should take a maximum of 1 hour.
