講義概要

In this course you will learn how to write at the paragraph level.
Students will gain experience composing cause and effect essays. The
course will be focused around the process of writing, so students can
expect plenty of chances to practice writing, proofreading and editing
skills. Each piece of writing will be collated into a portfolio and form the
evaluation for the course, so students continued effort in all classes will
be important.

This course meets the following DP criteria: Knowledge 1,4, acquire
language and use it, enable accurate communication in English for a
global environment. Collaborative 2, work actively in a group, develop
social responsibility

This course meets the following CP criteria: Education method - small
interactive group projects, use of ICT technology.

The course is taught in English



【学習到達目標】

By the end of the course, students will be able to write an academic, cause and effect essay, collate, summarise and explain research articles, and correctly cite research in the APA format



履修上の注意

Bring yourself confidently in class and get ready with a dictionary, a notebook, and textbook. At times, bring laptop.
Requirements:
1.Writing portfolio of all finalized/edited writing genre by the 14th week
2.On time submission of Unit writing assignment: 1st draft, edited version, and final; typewritten A4 size, Font should be Times New Roman, Font size 12.

Note: Course is all English



【事前準備学習】

Each Unit will be taken up for 2 weeks. You will be given assignments such as vocabulary, reading model paragraphs, and expected to submit writing assignments on time. Once you have your textbook, you will be able to work on your homework at home by looking at the color-coded model paragraphs.

評価方法

Grades will be based on class participation (for which attendance is necessary) and various assignments and tests. Not meeting with the instructor for editing sessions will result in failure of the course.
