【講義概要】
この講義は主として日本語で行い、英語を併用する。
民俗学は、習俗、民間伝承、祭りなど、現代まで人々により受け継がれてきた営みを取り上げ、現代から過去へとさかのぼり、古きを訪ねる学問である。本講義では、とりわけ民俗学者・谷川健一の思索に寄り添い、古代日本における「神と自然と人間の交渉」がどのようなものであったかについて考えていく。
本講義は、国際文化学部ディプロマポリシーの「知識・理解」における、「日本および世界の各地域の文化・歴史・社会・政治・経済などを学び、グローバル社会における多文化理解を身に付けること」を目的とする。
This course is conducted primarily in Japanese, with some English.
Japanese Folklore is a field of study to research customs, vernacular traditions, and other activities that have been handed down by people up to the present day. We will trace back from the present to the past and visiting the ancient past. In this course, we will examine throughout the lectures the nature of the "negotiation between gods, nature, and humans" in ancient Japan, particularly following the speculations of folklorist Ken-ichi Tanigawa.

日本の習俗や民間伝承に底流する水脈をたどる思考法を身につけ、日本文化の古代におけるありようを理解する。
In this course, students will acquire a way of thinking that traces the underlying veins of Japanese customs and folklore, and understand the ancient state of Japanese culture.
【履修上の注意】
出席回数が総授業回数の３分の２に満たない場合は「失格」とする。
原則として毎回、CCSのミニッツペーパー機能を使用し、課題を提出してもらう。次の授業で解答例を紹介し、解説を行う。
If attendance is less than two-thirds of the total number of lectures, the student will be disqualified.
Students are required to submit assignments using the minutes paper function of CCS in each lecture. Examples of solutions will be presented and explained in the next lecture.

【評価方法】
学期末レポート40％、授業内課題40％、授業への意欲20％、の配分で評価する。
The evaluation will be based on the following distribution: 40% for the end-of-term report, 40% for in-lecture assignments, and 20% for motivation to attend lecture.
