【講義概要】
The course is designed to encourage critical thinking among students, keep them engaged in extensive discussion about diverse, interesting issues. Each unit covers two sets of discussion issues, an audio clip, reading comprehension activities reinforced with writing exercise and has an online study center for more individual practice and self-tests. The volume of materials and design allow for flexibility. It is a four-skills language course and task-based ensuring each student’s progress is monitored.
This course uses English only as medium of instruction.

1.To introduce students to relevant issues, enable them to discuss, engage by giving opinions, and develop critical thinking.
2.To exercise and enhance their speaking skills in cohesion with the three other language skills.
3.To equip students with the ability to speak confidently.
【履修上の注意】
The students will need to bring a textbook, notebook and relevant study materials to the course including ,of course ,a dictionary. There will be homework and preparation for the classes. The class is a speaking class and the students will be expected to speak and practice their English to the greatest possible extent. For online lessons we will use teams- here is the code: dxkk0jn
【事前準備学習】
Students will use questions on different topics to have simple conversations with each other. At the start of the course, I will give them the questions and the topics but latterly they will supply topics and questions themselves. They will need to prepare answers for their questions for homework.
