【講義概要】

Students in this course will continue to improve their English skills required to be successful taking the TOEIC Test and develop their abilities to understand English used in international situations. The course will use an integrated approach with listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. By the end of the course, students will improve and their English abilities in the following themes: 1. Understand tactics for achieving higher scores on the TOEIC Test. 2. Listening skills with responses and recognizing question types. 3. Listening to conversations with interpretations. 4. Word choices and forms for sentence completion. 5. Short readings with passage completions. 6. Short readings with detail, summary and inference questions.

【学習到達目標】

The goals of this course are to improve the students’ knowledge and use of English in order to be successful in an international environment, and have students meet the criteria of a TOEIC score of 700 or higher.

【履修上の注意】

Students need to attend all classes and are responsible for assignments as there is no late work accepted. All classes will be taught in English.

Note: This course uses English only as medium of instruction.

Incentive: If you take a TOEIC test with a score of 700, you will be exempted from the final exams!

【事前準備学習】

Students will prepare for weekly vocabulary tasks. You will also the textbook for TOEIC Test preparation and other resources like business English books and TED Talk to improve your skills.

【評価方法】

In-class activities and drills/tests 70% Vocabulary in practice self-study 30%

Midterm and Final test.

Note: You will be exempted from final exam if you get a TOEIC Score of 700.
