【講義概要】

This course introduces basic concepts and practice of Language Teaching. This is a CLIL course; students will learn about common teaching methods and gain experience in designing classroom materials, managing a classroom and understanding the role of the teacher. This course will be interesting for students who are thinking of becoming teachers after graduation. The course will be practical, so students will listen to short lectures, read source material, discuss ideas and ways of teaching, create lesson materials and act as teacher in group activities.

This course meets these DP criteria: Ability to think about a problem and solve it (2) and express one's own opinion logically in an academic forum (3)

This course meets these CP criteria: Evaluation of learning (1), students are assessed continuously on critical thinking, research methods

The course is taught in English



【学習到達目標】

By the end of the course students will: -
1 – understand how to adapt lessons to student needs
2 – have used some key teaching strategies/techniques in demo lessons
3 – be able to select and adapt materials for demo lessons



【履修上の注意】

This class is interactive, it is not a traditional lecture where you will only sit and listen. The teacher conducts the class in English. It is very important to attend all classes and complete all work.



【事前準備学習】

You will be expected to prepare for many classes. The teacher will instruct you on what to do at the end of each class.
