【講義概要】
This course is intended to help students develop their writing skills in English. In the second part of this first-year. course we will concentrate on writing summaries. These summaries may be about articles that we have read or programs that we have listened to. This summary writing practice is intended to help students gain the academic writing skills that they need in order to take essay examinations or write reports based on their reading. Although this is primarily a writing course, there will be listening tasks and discussion related to the writing topics. Students will complete writing assignments each week and will also revise and resubmit assignments from previous weeks.
This course is taught entirely in English.
【学習到達目標】
The goal of this course is to master basic writing skills and to produce various types of English texts, and in particular, writing summaries, A secondary goal is for students to gain skill producing English texts using word processors.
【履修上の注意】
Students need to attend all classes and are responsible for assignments as there is no late work accepted. All classes will be taught in English.
Note: This course uses English only as medium of instruction.
【事前準備学習】
Students will discuss and prepare 5 writing projects and submit the writing portfolio by the end of the semester. Power Point Presentation will also be required for two types of writing . Always bring laptop and dictionary, including A4 size paper
