【講義概要】
This course will develop effective English oral communication competency and speaking fluency. Through various student-centered activities and meaningful contexts, students will gain confidence to use language communicatively. Students play an active role to what is learned and how it is learned. In the student-centered speaking class, students do the talking in small groups or pair work offering opinions, explanations as well as sharing viewpoints and experiences. Students will gain insights into various topics and world cultures through an array of interesting and provocative topics explored to promote critical thinking and lively discussions.

By the end of the course, students will be able to have simple and interesting conversations with confidence.
【履修上の注意】
This course is based on an interactive, student-centred learning environment. Students are ancouraged to fully participate in speaking activities individually, in pairs and as part of a group, throughout the semester.
【事前準備学習】
Students are expected to do pre-class preparation and post class review to consolidate class activities and language input effectively. The textbook should be brought to every class because it acts as a workbook in the class. There will be homework and tests.
