【講義概要】
Building on the basic skills acquired in English 103/104, students will develop intermediate skills for various writing activities, as well as strategies for producing effective and accurate writing in wider communicative situations (such as answering questions about what they read). Through various activities, students will learn how to write summaries and explanations, and in so doing develop the skills needed for the activities in English 205/206 Project.

By the end of the course, students will be able to write in a variety of English genres, and will, for example, be able to write descriptions of events, express ideas in short essays and other written contexts, as well as be able to summarize.

Constant attendance and active participation is necessary for successful completion of the course.

Grades will be based on class participation (for which attendance is necessary) and various assignments and tests.
