【講義概要】
Japanese Deaf Culture. Since most of the students who take this class are Japanese, and already know much about Japanese culture, this class will be about a part of Japanese culture they may know little about: Deaf culture. Deaf people in Japan have their own language (JSL) and culture, and the objective of this class is to introduce students to some aspects of the Deaf culture in Japan. Most classes will consist of watching videos and DVDs about Deaf people and Deaf culture, and then discussing and/or wrting opinions about the information in the videos/DVDs.

The objective of this class is to help students develop some understanding of the culture of Deaf people in Japan.

Active participation (for which coming to class is necessary) is
required for receiving a good grade.
